I recently interviewed Judge David Tatel for the ABA Journal website. He just retired after 30 years on the D.C. Circuit (having been appointed to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat).
In three decades on the court, Judge Tatel never saw a piece of paper nor a lawyer arguing before him.
Tatel tells his incredible story in his memoir published last month. I discussed the impact of his blindness on how he did his job and whether it affected his judging.
