In the course of researching the Coverage Opinions Baseball Issue I looked at a tremendous amount of litigation, going back to the 1800s, involving the national pastime. One case fascinated me the most. While it was nearly 130 years old, it involved an almost identical present-day legal dispute that I had been following in the media. The similarity of these disputes -- despite all that has changed in the world over the past 130 years -- struck me as remarkable. I wrote an article describing this and it was selected by The Wall Street Journal for publication as an Op-ed on its Opinion page.
